Expanding beyond the world of only working with Apple products, Tech Haven is now a certified Nest installer!

If you’re looking to upgrade your thermostat or replace your aging smoke detectors to the wonder that is Nest, Tech Haven is now certified to both install and sell you your new Nest products.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Nest family of products, they’re a series of cutting edge devices designed by a team of former Apple staffers (albeit now owned by Google) who sought to improve items that we all rely on daily, yet haven’t been updated to keep pace with both modern technology and our eco-sensitive concerns. Nest achieved their original vision with their first product, the Nest Learning Thermostat. With auto-programming features, remote setting capabilities and a wealth of other groundbreaking features, the Nest Learning Thermostat has changed the way we people heat and cool their houses – which by the way accounts for approximately 50% of your monthly electricity bill. The Nest Learning Thermostat allows you to decrease your monthly energy costs automatically by only heating or cooling your home when you’re actually there, or by turning itself off when you go to sleep, and back on in time for you to wake up. All in all, very cool. If you’re interested in learning more, check out this video that Nest put together for a brief introduction:

The Nest Protect replaces your current “dumb” smoke detector with an intelligent smoke (and carbon monoxide) detector that eliminates both the confusion that often happens when a traditional alarm goes off, as well as banishing that annoying chirping sound your smoke detector makes when its batteries need replacing. With the ability to sync an app on your iPhone (or Android) you’ll instantly get an update when the alarm goes off, telling you specifically what the alert is, and in what room of your house the alarm is located. If it’s a false alarm, you can even silence the Nest Protect right from the app. If you want to learn more about the new Nest Protect, here’s a video:

If you’re interested in upgrading either your existing thermostat or smoke detectors to the Nest devices, please get in touch, as we’re excited to begin installing and configuring them for our clients.
